of Punjab has decided to raise the entry test fee for medical and dental
colleges admission to 100 % from the entry test fee received last year. Last
year the government received entry test fee of Rs.500 from every students to
appear in the entry test meant for admission in the medical or dental colleges.
Total 36,098 candidates appeared in the test and the entry test fee summed up
to Rs.1,80,49,000, which is absolutely low than the expenditure involved in the
entry test. The total expenditure of last year entry test were Rs,3,68,26,380
and Punjab government provided that amount to meet the whole expenditure.
Now the government has
decided to increase the entry test fee for admission in medical and dental
colleges from Rs.500 to Rs.1000 from every student. it is hoped that about
40,000 candidates will participate in the entry test for medical and dental
colleges of the province and the amount spend on their entry test will be about
Rs.3.5 crores, which will be met through their entry test fee.
